Bill evashwick, senior vice-president
Bill Evashwick oversees all television production for Traveling
Light. He is currently Executive Producing the A&E
Biographies on Dolly Parton and NASCAR and developing a television
series for Discovery. As well as Executive Producer, Bill has
served in the capacities of writer, producer, and director for A&E
Biographies under the Traveling Light banner including the Emmy
nominated John Travolta Biography and the CINE Golden Eagle winning
Biographies of Kevin Costner, The Rock, Sylvester Stallone, and Bruce
Willis, and the Telly Award winning Biographies of Richard Gere and Val
Kilmer. He was also Executive Producer on The Crash of Flight 191
(winner of the CINE Golden Eagle, Telly and New York Festivals awards)
and Secrets of the Black Box: Flight 007 (Telly Award winner),
both for the History Channel. His first production for Traveling
Light was Probable Cause, a series of specials for the Travel
Channel/Discovery.
Prior to joining the company, Bill wrote and produced the nationally
syndicated children’s show Just Imagine. He garnered Cable
Ace Award Nominations for Best Comedy Special for two of his Showtime
Networks specials, Deep Dish TV and Deep Fried TV.
Bill branched from comedy to the world of reality television with the
classic Fox Special When Good Pets Go Bad, as well as The World’s
Deadliest Sea Creatures for ABC and the inaugural season of NBC’s
World’s Most Amazing Videos.
Bill has won four National Telly Awards for his Musical Variety
Productions featuring artists such as Ice Cube, Dove Shack, and Tha
Twinz. During the Dot Com Boom of the late 90s, he was hired as
senior producer for BreakTV to write, produce and direct short-form
content for streaming video.
He began his career performing improv comedy, which led to working on
feature films as an actor and writer. His feature credits include
You Can’t Hurry Love, Limit Up, Video Valentino, Playing Patti and And
She Was (currently in post-production).
Bill’s background in children’s programming led to his involvement in
teen and child health issues. He served on the board of the
Center for Healthcare Innovation teen and child health
initiative. His most recent book, Promoting Teen Health:
